Hello,

I would like to change the favicon and the site title showing in tab.

For the favicon, i found a post in this forum and did as described : create a favicon.ico through an online service and placed it at the root, replacing the one which was there. it worked perfect in mozilla but not in IE.

As to the site title : it says Image Vue right now. i have been looking in the settings section of the admin but cannot find where I can change this.

admin -> settings -> scroll down to just below "theme"

For your favicon, this sometimes gets stored in IE "history", so most likely it works for all other visitors. You can check it by trying from another computer with IE. If you changed the icon, there would be no way IE could load the old icon if it doesn't exist anymore!

I cannot for the life of me get my favicon to work, I have even gone to the extent of putting the favicon file in all my directories.. any help please..

There is already one favicon, it is at the root,and only one is needed.
What you need to di is eplace this favicon with yours, and that is all

That is what I initially did but it's not working and I have checked it on 3 different browsers.

Well, the only reason I can see is you did not place your fvicon at the root, or your favicon is damaged a way or another.

Destroy the favicon at the root, until you don't see the white page as a favicon in the browser.
Then you will be sure this is the good one, and you can place yours there

Ok I have added my favicon, if it does not show here then sure it damaged but no problems right? there must be a script somewhere?

ok so favicon made into an ico file set to 16x16 but still not working... grrr...

there is a new favicon I can see when surfing with firefox, : it is a red e.
If it not appearing immediatly using ie, don't worry, you just need to empty your temporary files folder.

Nalivsh: Just replace the the file in the Imagevue root "favicon.ico" ... You can create favicon from these pages:
http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/ (upload and convert an image to *ico)
http://www.favicon.cc/ (Draw an icon directly)

Keep in mind, your browser may take some time before it updates the favicon ... It is stored in your history-cache.
