Since I've upgraded to 2.8.7 I've this error in one of my three site:

Maybe it's a server related problem.

It is possible to download from the site a previous version of software?

Hi, I would recommend you to contact your hosting support and ask them to deal with this. The best course of actions would be to disable safe_mode at all, this option is deprecated in the current PHP versions.

Here is the previous version for you, but I would recommend to deal with this safe_mode issue anyway.
