New X2.7.5.2 installation error

Dear all:
I have been using X2.6.4 with great satisfaction.
Recently had downloaded the newest X2.7.5.2, unzipped the entire contents and put them up in a new folder (for a test-drive purpose) onto the same web server. However, when I pointed my browser into that new folder, nothing showed up at all. I had even tried changing the writing rights of that entire folder to 777, but still no luck.
From my working X2.6.4 folder, I saw that my server's php version is 5.2.6, and there was only one warning sign (the 'suhosin', and the warning message was: Oh, bad luck. This is some 'hardened php' project which went wrong. You might have to disable it.) in all PHP and Apache module checks. Am wondering if I had missed out something simple and obvious for the new installation? Help is cordially appreciated!! Thanks.
