Is it possible to put a white border around the thumbnails in the navigation menu (the mouseover thumbnail)

Unfortunately, you cannot add a custom border around the thumbnail in navi menu. OK so where can I change the color to white? In the CSS file? I think it is just black right now.

This is inherited from your foreground_color ...
