I have just applied in the admin 7 thumbnails to go across and 6 deep, when I go to the font end it is not centering itself, the thumbnails are over to the right. When I put the settings back to Zero (automatic) it centers itself.
Any ideas as to why and what I should do to center a block of 7w x 6h.

Yes, its not working correctly, but you can achieve what you want by using a different method. Please read the post below as that addresses this issue:
