I'm looking forward to this update too... a lot of my website visitors are becoming frustrated that they CAN'T open it on their iOS devices. The HTML fall back is out of place as I don't have really idea on how I can incorporate it properly.

At the moment, my website is back on the pixelpost for now and imagevue is relegated to client access for the time being.

I'm hoping that the 2.8 release will be here in the next few days. <cough> end of April <!cough> :D :P

Should be on target for at least a beta version of 2.8 within next week, with a brand new mobile frontend suited for basically all handheld devices.

No inconvenience at all!
I don't think we can demand anything from you...
We should all be thankful for anything that we receive... :)

Thanks. Just to clarify: This will mainly be a release with focus on a new dedicated version for mobile platforms (iphone, blackberry, android etc.). Don't expect much changes for the flash version, although we hope to have a X2.9 perhaps already in late May, which will have more SWF updates, and also a new "optional" html gallery (just as an improved option to the current flash gallery ... Mobile devices will as you understand, already be handled in 2.8 release).

I'll have to say I'm not very happy to hear that. You said it will be a new dedicated html5 and a mobile/tablet version. And this long wait would have been worth it and understandable for both.

Sorry, our development comes in batches, and there are a lot of factors involved. This new release is in fact a dedicated html5 mobile+tablet version ... I would not say you would want to replace the flash gallery with it though, as it is a conservative design oriented towards touchscreen, finger-scrolling, tablets and smartphones.

Expect Imagevue 2.9 with a brand new html version in end of May already, as we will simply continue our plans. Will it replace the flash gallery though? Not really, but this will be up to each user, because they are simply two different technologies that use two completely different interaction methods and both have their strengths and weaknesses.

I was maybe too quick complaining :|
I know you guys are doing your best, and as it is said. Good things happen slow. I'm still looking forward to see how the new version for ipad/iphone will look like.
If the new dedicated html5 version will arrive later this month, all is good. I've just had enough of flash, I like the html5 more, it runs more smooth and also uses less cpu. It is also more flexible. I know that it will be awsome when it will be ready.
Keep up the good work :-)
