I can confirm that plus_one does not work for sharing, but this is not related to Imagevue. In fact, I am not 100% sure how they are planning on implementing the plus_one button, because essentially this button exists as a separate "+1" button similar to the Facebook "like".
You can check the following simply does not work: http://api.addthis.com/oexchange/0.8/fo ... gevuex.com However, if you replace the "google_plusone" in the URL above with any other service like "facebook" or "twitter", then it works fine. This just shows that the service is currently not supported as a "sharing option" traditionally speaking. It seems AddThis simply do not support this with Google Plus, likely because Google Plus does not support an interface for this yet ... I did some research on the subject, and found this: http://www.addthis.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=31967 Furthermore, if you click the "more" button on the sharing (you have removed yours, but you can check in our demo), you can search through the available sharing options and you will see Google Plus is not available. The obvious conclusion is that Google Plus "sharing" simply is not supported, at least as of yet. Neither have I ever seen a sharing button for Google plus ... only the Google "+1" button which basically +1's a link, but does not "share" it traditionally speaking. You can see we have the Google "+1" button implemented globally in our demo gallery on the top right, but this does not "share" anything. I think you may have to wait and see if they come up with something ... _________________ Karl / mjau-mjau ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() www.imagevuex.com www.mjau-mjau.com www.photogallerylinks.com |

I have been doing a lot of reading and checking on Google+ options and I still don't see anything working from a widget. What bothers be is that I can't even share it manually. If I take the link from the URL and past it into the Google+ website it doesn't work. If I take the HTML link it works but then if someone were to click it then they open a simple HTML version of the picture - not even the HTML version of the site itself.
Is there a way to post a link to G+ so that I can share? I don't care if I have to go manual. Thanks! |

I have been doing a lot of reading and checking on Google+ options and I still don't see anything working from a widget. I am not sure what you mean. It clearly works in our demo gallery: Perhaps you are using Internet explorer? Google +1 does not work, in IE, at least not all versions. ... or maybe you mean "anything working from a widget" as in if there is some other sharing option for +1? Sorry, there isn't ... Google have this button, and its the one we have in our demo gallery in the snapshot above. What bothers be is that I can't even share it manually. If I take the link from the URL and past it into the Google+ website it doesn't work. What exactly do you mean "it doesn't work"? I just tried it in my +1, and it fetches the link title+ description ready for posting. See snapshot: If I take the HTML link it works but then if someone were to click it then they open a simple HTML version of the picture - not even the HTML version of the site itself. Yes, if you take the html link it will share the html link ... Not sure about what picture it open, unless you are on tht picture when you share. When I share the following link, it shares correctly that link and starts in the gallery html root when clicked: http://imagevuex.com/demo/x2/?p=html _________________ Karl / mjau-mjau ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() www.imagevuex.com www.mjau-mjau.com www.photogallerylinks.com |

Hey Mjau-mjau!
I am not sure what you mean. It clearly works in our demo gallery: Perhaps you are using Internet explorer? Google +1 does not work, in IE, at least not all versions. This image is correct - you can plus one something in the demo gallery. But after you plus one something you should be able to then share it on Google+ by hovering over the +1 icon. When you try to do this, even in your gallery the box appears like it will work, then when I move my mouse to the field to enter my text, the whole thing disappears. ![]() ... or maybe you mean "anything working from a widget" as in if there is some other sharing option for +1? Sorry, there isn't ... Google have this button, and its the one we have in our demo gallery in the snapshot above. I don't care how it's done honestly. I would just like to be able to share one image on Google+, have the image in the post on Google+ and when someone clicks on it, it brings them to the page on my flash gallery. For example, I would go to this page http://www.marcushamaker.com/#/content/Landscape/Red%20Rock%20Canyon.jpg click a button and it puts it on Google+. What exactly do you mean "it doesn't work"? I just tried it in my +1, and it fetches the link title+ description ready for posting. See snapshot: This is a link to your site, but not a specific image. The idea is to share specific images to draw people into the site. I want them to click the image on Google+ and have them come directly to that image on the flash site. I could just share images on G+ with no linking back, but the reason I got Imagevue is because it really is a nice way to experience the pictures. Yes, if you take the html link it will share the html link ... Not sure about what picture it open, unless you are on tht picture when you share. When I share the following link, it shares correctly that link and starts in the gallery html root when clicked: http://imagevuex.com/demo/x2/?p=html I can do that as well. You saw above already that I want to link to the image. I want to drive traffic by sharing each individual image when I add it to my site and then I want them to be brought to that image when the click on G+. Right now this is the result of taking this URL http://www.marcushamaker.com/#/content/Landscape/Red%20Rock%20Canyon.jpg to Google+. ![]() Thanks for your help, I hope we can get something working! |

This is true. Unfortunately with the custom widget we have, that is added as a separate custom module, it works on a mouse hover system that acts on mouse focus. Unfortunately, the 3rd layer that google ads we have no control over, so it would not be good for "adding text". I would need to look into this, but in essence, this would require an entirely different system where the google +1 link is static and visible on screen all the time. That could already be done now with a little tweak, although I could not stand for the design. Unfortunately, this is a bit more complicated ... first of all, Google plus one don't provide an API for sharing an item, so we cant just add a button that shares a specific image. This can also be experiences in the extended sharing buttons - Go to an image in imagevue, roll over the image, then the share button ... Click "more". Google +1 is not available because you can't build an interface button for it! So what does this leave us with? It leaves us with the native Google +1 button integration, which is added in the custom "social thing" sharing module that is top right of the demo gallery. The thing with this module, is that it is a custom module entirely separate from the imagevue gallery because it can't be integrated into flash. It uses unique javascript directly from facebook, twitter and Google ... This also means, since it is embedded on a single page, this module will not be able to share separate pictures either, because essentially the images you see in Imagevue are NOT on separate pages traditional speaking. Imagevue is basically a single-page application. Sorry to not give you better answers, but you might understand from the technical nature of things as exaplined. This is a link to your site, but not a specific image. The idea is to share specific images to draw people into the site. I want them to click the image on Google+ and have them come directly to that image on the flash site. I could just share images on G+ with no linking back, but the reason I got Imagevue is because it really is a nice way to experience the pictures. Again, sorry - I believe this is explained above. There simply is no API to build a button for sharing to +1. So we are left with the single-page button embedded into the document. Unfortunately, we can't get that to share separate Imagevue images since this module is basically embedded into the html page (it has to be), and there are no "pages". We will look into this further, but as you may understand, there are some complications. I can say that things may be improved a lot with the new html version coming soon. _________________ Karl / mjau-mjau ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() www.imagevuex.com www.mjau-mjau.com www.photogallerylinks.com |

Sad news for me but it looks like it's as much a Google problem as it is a problem with Flash.

So with regards to this comment... HTML version... are you releasing an HTML5 version? The reason I ask is because my site is starting to gain some traffic and I am often asked for a link to my portfolio. If I can't get these kinds of things working I may look for another HTML5 solution. If you tell me that you will have something coming in 1-2... maybe 3 months, I will wait. I like your product and the design a lot |

Within a few months, there will be 1. dedicated html versions for mobile devices like iPad and iPhone, 2. A new html5 version for large-screen devices. However, I cannot claim that the new html version (at least in its first release) will be similar to the flash version, or that it will be more attractive to use than the flash version. Likely, it will be developed differently simply because they are different technologies and the times they are a changing.
